JWI Names Amb. Jackson McDonald (Ret.) President and Samuel Wyman Vice Chairman

Jefferson Waterman International Announces New Appointments to Top Leadership

International political and business consulting firm Jefferson Waterman International has announced two changes to its top-level leadership. Samuel Wyman will now serve as JWI’s Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer. Ambassador Jackson McDonald (Ret.) has been named the firm’s President. JWI’s founding member Charles Waterman will continue in his position as Chief Executive Officer.

Amb. McDonald (Ret.) is the former U.S. Ambassador to both Guinea and The Gambia and former Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire. In addition to his years of service in West Africa, Amb. McDonald has extensive in-country career experience in the Middle East, Europe, and the former Soviet Union. Before joining JWI in 2011, Amb. McDonald also served in positions including Foreign Policy Advisor to the commander of U.S. Cyber Command and Senior Advisor for Security Negotiations at the U.S. Department of State.

Mr. Wyman has been with JWI since its founding, following a distinguished career as an operations officer with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in the Near East, Western Europe and Africa. While with the Agency, he frequently participated in foreign policy deliberations at the National Security Council level and assisted Congressional Oversight Committees. At JWI, Mr. Wyman directs international political advocacy campaigns and assists JWI corporate clients, offering particular expertise in technology, security, and defense and aerospace-related matters.

“Ambassador McDonald’s and Sam Wyman’s recent appointments signify the high caliber of JWI’s entire staff,” said Charles Waterman, JWI’s CEO. “Exceptional for an international advocacy firm, JWI has been in operation more than 16 years and continually grown in depth, breadth and impact. The quality of people such as Jackson and Sam are the main reason for JWI’s success.”
